A stone tablet high up in the gable records: Wesleyan Church - A.D. 1884.

A plaque records: Wesleyan Church - 1884 - The Reverend John Pemell held a revival meeting in Rylstone in 1852. With the help of early resident Joseph Taylor, two acres of land were secured and a small brick church erected for Wesleyan services, called Zion Chapel. It was located in Cox Street near Louee Street, unfortunately demolished in the 1960s.

In 1883, when the congregation grew too large for the Zion Chapel, the present Wesleyan Church was erected...

The local Methodist and Presbyterian churches always had a close association. During World War II, the two parishes worked together under one minister. This arrangemant continued until 1969, when the two churches amalgamated under the ministry of Rev A Baker. Since the formation of the Uniting Church in Australia in 1977, this Wesleyan Church has been the principal Uniting Church for Rylstone and the surrounding region.

A plaque records: In Memorium - Peter & Prue Docker - This congregation recognises and commemorates the positive influence and generous spirit of our late parishioners and friends. Peter's efforts in planning, design and overseeing the works to maintain, extend and enhance this suite of buildings are greatly appreciated.

Prue guided their ship with her warmth, generous community spirit and involvement to make a difference to our lives. Their considerrable contribution to the whole life of the Cudgegong cluster of The Uniting Church will always be with us - December 2014.

A plaque records: This garden is dedicated to the loving memory - of Jenny Gardiner - wife of our minister Rev Graeme Gardiner. - Jenny was saved from further suffering -  on 31 July 2010. - The sound of her organ playing, her beautiful voice - and her enchanting laugh will echo - through this church forever.

A plaque records: This stone was the original entry step to the church - it has been moved here to provide a place for rest and reflection - and in loving memory of our friends and fellow parishioners - Bert and Bessie Reeves - and those many faithful folk - who have all worked so hard over a long period for this church.
