(The Tamworth Daily Observer - 20 August 1913)   "NEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. Ceremony at Muswellbrook. (From our Correspondent.) The foundation stone of the Presbyterian Church was laid today (Saturday) by Miss Sarah Hall, Dartbrook. The Right Rev. Moderator (Rev. A. Smith) sealed the records of the church and placed them in the receptacle in the stone, at the same time remarking that they would not be seen again for 200 years. The records covered the ground work of the church from 1832."

(The Muswellbrook Chronicle - 5 June 1915)   "NEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. Muswollbrook's new Presbyterian Church (St. John's) was opened on Thursday after noon by the Right Rev. R. Scott-West, Moderator of the State Assembly."

The present St John's Presbyterian Church & Hall was erected 1913-1915. The original/former St John's Presbyterian Church was built in 1843. This former St John's Presbyterian Church is located higher up the hill in Hill Street and is now used as part of Dunmore Lang Christian School. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 9/4/2015.

The building is now also used by Hope City Church, which is a member of Australian Christian Churches.
