The Holy Cross Catholic Church, Helensburgh is in the Helensburgh/Holy Cross Parish and part of the Diocese of Wollongong. The first Holy Cross church is recorded as being opened on 13/4/1893, to meet the needs of the growing population in the developing district of Helensburgh (Camps Creek). The construction of the church building was in two stages, the first commencing in 1890, and by 1896 a Catholic school was operating in the building. In 1911 Helensburg was established as a parish with the Rev Fr J Morris appointed priest. By 1985 the original wooden structure was in a poor condition, and it was decided to erect a new church building on the same site. After removal of the old building the present church building was erected, being opened and blessed in November, 1986. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 29/9/2020 & 6/8/2026.
