The St John's Anglican Church parish was created in 1956 and the first church and school buildings erected in 1957. The present church building was opened on 21/12/1870 by Bishop Barker. The perimeter stone walls and lych gate were added in 1901. The vestry was added in 1909 and the tower in 1911. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
