The Grenfell Uniting Church celebrated its sesquicentenary in February 2016.

The first Wesleyan services in the Grenfell Goldfields were commenced in 1866 by the Rev J Butler, shorttly after the opening of the goldfields. The first church building was opened on 3/11/1867, built of pine slabs with a shingle roof. A new church site bounded by Forbes, Dagmar & Young Streets was offered to the church in 1877, and the foundation stone for a new building was laid on 29/2/1888. The old church was sold for demolition, but was destroyed by a storm before that happened. The present church building was erected in 1927/28.

More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 29/3/2020.
