The St Alban the Martyr Anglican Cathedral Church, Griffith is part of the Parish of Griffith, and is the Seat of the Bishop of the Diocese of Riverina. Early Anglican services in the area were held in the town picture theatre, until the rectory was built in 1923. After which, weddings and baptisms were conducted in the lounge room of the rectory, until the Church Hall was opened by the Bishop of London, on 22/3/1927. After many years planning and fund raising the Church of St Alban the Martyr was opened and dedicated on 16/4/1955, by the Bishop of Riverina, the Rt Rev H G Robinson. About 2,000 people attended the opening. On Tuesday 1/5/1984, as part of the Riverina Diocese Centenary celebrations, St Alban's Church at Griffith became the Cathedral Church of the Diocese.
