The former St Magdalen's Chapel, Arncliffe was built about 1888. It was associated with the Tempe House complex which was built about 1833 (for A B Spark, who was a trustee of the St Peter's Anglican Church, Tempe, and who died in 1856, and is buried in the St Peter' s cemetery). After his death the house was sold and eventually bought by the Sister's of the Good Samaritan Order about 1885. Accommodation, and other facilities were built to cater for the work of the Order, together with the chapel about 1888. The property was owned by them for about one hundred years. It is now subject to the National Trust. More historical information/photographs of the former chapel/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 19/2/2021.
