The present Vaucluse Uniting Church building was erected about 1960 for the Congregational Church. It was originally established as the South Head Independent Chapel in 1839. A Mission Hall known as the 'Watsons Bay and South Head Congregational Church' was built on the cnr of Robertson Place and Dunbar Street (the Tin Tabernacle) in 1891. The present church hall in Russell Street served as a church from 1909, untll the present building was erected in 1960.
