The current Ashfield Baptist Church building, and its first church building on this site, was opened about 1936/7. The first Ashfield Baptist Church building was opened in 1886 and the second in 1906, all at different sites. The first Baptist service in Ashfield was held on 26/4/1884, in the Ashfield School of Arts, by the Rev Frederick Hibberd.
