The first St David's Anglican Church building was erected in Hirst Street, Arncliffe prior to 1861. It was constructed on land donated by David Hannam, the son of a pioneer convict, Reuben Hannam, who was originally given the block of land.
A larger and more centrally located building was required by 1910. This was to be located in Forest Road and the Archbishop laid the foundation stone on 22/1/1910. Unfortunately about six months later the partly constructed building was destroyed in a gale. It was about four years before a second foundation stone was laid by the Archbishop on 15/8/1914. The church was opened on 25/1/1915. Many changes have occurred since that time, and in 2018 it changed its name to Bayside Anglican Church (see reference below). More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 18/6/2020.
