The St Anges Catholic Chuch, Port Macquarie is in the Port Macquarie/St Anges Parish and the Diocese of the Lismore. The earliest contacts in the district by catholic's was about 1821, although it was not until 1888, that a permanent settlemt was established. The first Catholic Church was the former guard's room situated outside the convict gaol built in the1830s. The first St Agnes church building was a wooden structure which was built in the 1870s, and also served as a Sunday School. It was replaced by the present church building opened in 1941. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 5/12/2017 & 11/3/3036.
