Big Hill Uniting Church

The Big Hill Uniting Church celebrated its 125th anniversary on 14/9/2003. On 1/8/1878 a lease was entered for an area of two acres of land with the Hon. Thomas Holt and the Trustees of the Primitive Methodist Church Goulburn, for a term of 999 years, for an annual rent of one  peppercorn, if demanded. It is believed the church building was opened in 1879, but the early records were destroyed in a bushfire so there is uncertainty. Over the years alterations and repairs have been carried out to the building to preserve it and meet the needs of the congregation. It was also closed for periods due to severe weather and/or lack of a congregation. A cemetery adjoins the church property.
