The Ukrainian Catholic Church of St Volodymyr, Lyneham is in the Parish of St Volodymyr in the Eparchy of Sts Peter and Paul of Melbourne for Ukrianian Catholics in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania, within the territory of the Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn. From 1972, the congregation had worshipped in a chapel in a private home, which also served as the presbytery. The genesis of the present church began in 1973, when Patriarch Cardinal Joseph Slipyj visited Australia, and after visiting Ukrainian Catholic parishes throughout Australia decided that the national capital of Australia should have a Ukrainian Catholic Church and centre to represent the Ukrainian people. A church building fund was established, supported by Ukrainians from all parishes in Australia. The church building was erected and opened on 16/12/1983, and consecrated on the feast day of St Volodymyr the 28/7/1991 [Sourced from: https://pilgrimsofhope.catholic.org.au/site/st-volodymyrs-church/#]. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
