The St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Charnwood is part of the Charnwood-West Belconnen/St Thomas Aquinas Parish and the Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The parish was established on 13/1/1974, with Fr Neville Drinkwater as its parish priest. In 1975, St Thomas Aquinas Parish School began under the care of the Ursuline Sisters. Until 1980 when a parish centre was completed, providing living quarters for the parish priest, a chapel and meeting rooms, the school buildings were the focus of all parish activity.
