The St Joseph's Catholic Church, O'Connor is in the O'Connor/(Inner North)/St Joseph's Parish and part of the Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The St Joseph's school was opened in May 1956 by the Sisters of St Joseph, and until the church building was erected Mass was celebrated in the school hall. The church building was dedicated on 28/10/1973 by Archbishop Cahill. A parish hall was built in 1986. An arsonist attack in August 2007, resulted in the parish hall having to be demolished and the roof of the church building replaced. The church was re-opened on 19/3/2009 and on 28/10/2025 celebrated its fifty second anniversary. The church's minstries have included the provision of chaplains to various migrant groups, including Polish, Dutch, Croation, Irish and Vietnamese in the early years of their settlement. The church facilities are also used by the Syro Malabar Catholic Church communities from India. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 3/11/2025.
