The Holy Cross Anglican Church is in the Parish of Hackett and part of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The parish was founded in 1963, and for more than sixty years has worked in co-operative partnership with the St Margaret's Uniting Church (formerly Presbyterian), sharing buildings and holding regular joint services. The sharing arrangement began when both the Anglicans and Presbyterians had been allocated sites in Hackett, to build separate churches. Instead of developing separate buildings its was agreed to develop one site, at which both could worship and share. The joint Holy Cross Anglican Church and Parish Centre of St Margaret's was opened and dedicated on 16/12/1967. The buildings were consecrated in 1986. It was also agreed, around the same time, that the nearby St George's Anglican in Downer would merge with Holy Cross. Both the Anglican and Uniting churches have maintained separate and combined ministry activities, and each have outreach programs. More historical informaton/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 2/11/2025
