The St James' Anglican Church, Holt is in the Parish of Holt and part of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. Early services began in 1972, being held first in the Latham Primary School and later in the Holt Primary School. With the appointment of the Rev Ronald Butler and the election of a leadership council, a Co-operating Parish was formed including the Belconnen Church of Christ in 1976. In 1981 the Belconnen Church of Christ moved into its own building. Activities were then undertaken by the Anglican parishioners to raise funds for the erection of their own church. After many years effort, the final service in the school was held on 6/11/1994. The new church building was formally opened and dedicated by Bishop George Browning on 3/12/1994. While the progress in the parish was good at the time of the church opening, by 2007 its direction/viability was being questioned. Under a new leadership group progress continues to be made in strengthening and continuing the church's ministry activities. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 31/10/2025.
