The St Patrick's Catholic Church, Braddon is part of the Central Canberra (Inner North)/St Brigid & St Patrick Parish in the Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The building was opened and blessed on 20/10/1935, by the Bishop of Goulburn, the Rev Dr John Barry. From its beginning in 1935 it functioned as a school/church, until the last school was closed in 1980. Over the years Mass has also been celebrated here by many migrant groups in their own languages. A St Patrick's War Memorial Church Hall was opened in 1953, with a seating capacity of about 700. In 1983, the original St Patrick's School building was refurbished and became solely a Mass Centre. A Mass celebrated in German, is still conducted in the church building. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/10/2025.
