The St Barnabas' Anglican Church,Charnwood is part of the Hope Ginninderra Parish (with St Michael & All Saints', Hall)  and the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. In 2025, the Parish of Ginnindera amalgamated with the Parish of Charnwood to become the Hope Ginninderra Parish, with activities continuing in St Barnabas' and St Michael & All Saints churches. St Barnabas' began as a church plant from the congregation meeting in the Melba Primary School, holding its first service on 16/9/1979, in the Fraser Primary School, conducted by the Rev Brian Carter. From the early development of the area, St Michael & All Saints', the village church at Hall, has been a participant, with the St Barnabas' congregation, which from 1981 until 2002, conducted worship in many locations around the district. The present church building was opened by Bishop George Browning on 1/11/2002 (All Saints' Day). The church continues to have a strong focus on engagement with the local community through Sunday School, youth ministries and other family orientated activities. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 28/10/2025.
