The Christ Church Anglican Church, Hawker is in the Parish of Hawker and part of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The church began with a celebration of Holy Communion, in a private home in Belconnen, in July 1969. In January 1970 the first priest, the Rev John R Collings was commissioned, and a provisional parish was established to serve the central Belconnen area, with services held in the Page Primary School. Later the services changed to the Scullin Primary School, which was shared for many years in co-operation with the Methodist/Uniting Church congregation, until the Christ Church building was completed. The first service in the new church building was held on 14/11/1982.
