The St George's Anglican Church, Pearce is in the Parish of Pearce and the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. St George's began on 20/8/1967, when a small congregation met for worship in the Pearce Primary School, led by Bishop Cecil Warren. Services were then held in the Pearce, Mawson and Torrens Primary Schools until 15/9/1968, after which they were held in the Torrens Primary School for the next fifteen years. The church building was opened and dedicated on 13/12/1983 by Bishop Owen Dowling. Church youth and other activities continued to flourish for about 20 or so years, including the beginning of a Sudanese Dinka congregation. A period of governance restructuring caused a loss of momentum and difficulties, during which time funding of its operations became difficult. By 2012 new leadership had began to heal the community and progress for outreach had started to function again. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 11/10/2025.
