The Croatian Catholic Centre, Farrer is part of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The church building, opened in 1977 as the St Augustine's Catholic Church, and was previously in the St Augustine's Catholic Parish, Farrer. After the parish amalgamated, in 1994, with the Sacred Heart Parish, Pearce, to form the Parish of South Woden/Mary, Help of Christians Parish, the building was handed over to the Canberra Croation Community. This marked the beginning of the organised Catholic work for the Croatian priests and sisters among this community in their own language, uniting Catholic believers of Croatian heritage in Canberra and Queanbeyan. The immigration of Croatians in the Canberra/Queanbeyan region was strong in the 1960s/1970s1. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/9/2025.
