The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pearce is in the Parish of South Woden/Mary Help of Christians Parish and the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The Sacred Heart building was consecrated on 12/12/1976, and dedicated by Bishop Pat Dougherty. The building also includes the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The Mary, Help of Christians Parish was founded in 1994, after the amalgamation of Sacred Heart Parish, Pearce (founded 1968) and St Augustine's Parish, Farrer (founded in 1977). The St Augustine's church was handed over to the Canberra Croatian community, although still used as a Mass centre for the parish.
