Comments
The St Mary in the Valley Anglican Church, is part of the Parish of South Tuggeranong (with St Edmund's, Tharwa - see separate entry - 2620) and the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The Society of the Sacred Mission, a teaching nad training order, was instrumental in establishing this parish, which was declared by Bishop Owen Dowling on 6/5/1984. The first service, before the establishment of the parish, was held at the Gowrie Primary School, on Palm Sunday, 27//3/1983. The first church building was a redundant church building in Mannus, in the Parish of Tumbarumba, which was relocated and re-erected. The present St Mary's church building was erected and dedicated on 17/12/1992 by Bishop George Browning. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
