The former Rockley Uniting Church is now closed, and the property was sold in 1986. The area around Rockley between 1851 and 1880 had a large increase in population, resulting from the discovery of gold by Hargreaves in February 1851. The earliest reference to Methodist services being held in the district was 1847, by the Rev Bengamin Hurst recording that regular services had begun at Campbell River. The original Rockley chapel was built in 1858 and the parsonage in 1872. The church served the local worshipping congregation for about 128, which experienced peaks and troughs and times of trial and triumph along the way. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 19/8/2021.
