St Barnabas Anglican Church - Former

The former St Barnabas Anglican Church, Bondi Junction closed and the building deconsecrated in1986, and the property was then sold. The church had been part of the Centennial Park Parish and the Diocese of Sydney. The church began about the 1890s beginning in a tent with the present brick building erected about 1902. The church in its early days had a large Sunday School and grew a very significant congregation. This was all supported by the establishment of a new housing estate in the area in the early days of the church. The WWs, a recession and the changing demographics of the district all contributed to the final closure of the church.
