The West Hawthorn Uniting Church is part of the Uniting Church Presbytery of Yarra Yarra and the Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. The church began as the Grove Road Presbyterian Mission, holding its first service on 4/1/1891, in a small building erected on the site of the present car park. The West Hawthorn Presbyterian Church was formally established in 1895, with the present church building opened for worship on 9/2/1911. It became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. The West Hawthorn Uniting congregation held its final service in the church building, on Good Friday 2021, (2/4/2021). The congregation then joined with the East Kew Uniting Church, and the Joong Ang (Korean) congregations to form the new Kew Uniting Church congregation (see separate entry - 3101). More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 13/10/2021.
