| Foundation Stone Notes: | No formal foundation stone is understood to have been laid for the church building, in March 1866, however, the following are understood to have been present when the first stone was laid: Rev John Foggon, Messrs J Brown Snr., J Bugg, G Bastin and G Bool.{See note below - p74]. The foundation stone for the church hall was laid in September 1938 by the Rev Bernard Deane. The text on the foundation stone is not known. Information/photographs are invited. |

The Parkesbourne Uniting Church, Parkesbourne (formerly a Primitive Methodist Church) is one of the church buildings used by the Parkesbourne and Merrilla Uniting congregation (formed on 1/4/2021 - previously part of the Goulburn Parish), which is now part of the Canberra Region Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of NSW & ACT. A record of early Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist services in the district date from the early 1860s, when the Primitive Methodists had a slab church building erected on the property of Mr John Weatherstone. About the same time the Primitive Methodist began services in the home of Mr John Brown. The present church building erected on land given by Mr Thomas Grunsell, an early settler, was opened about September 1866 at a service conducted by the Rev J Ayling. For a time the building was also used as a school. The church celebrated its centenary on 30/10/1966. A hall, opposite the church, on the other side of the road, was opened in December 1938 by the Rev R H Campbell. Over the years many addtions and improvements have been carried out on the properties to meet the needs of the congregation. A small cemetery adjoins the church. The other church building used by the congregation is the Merrilla Uniting Church - (see separate entry - 2580). More historical information/photographs of the churchg/congregation are invited.
