Comments

The Mustard Seed Uniting Church, Ultimo building was originally erected about 1883 for the Presbyterian Church. It replaced the Presbyterian Church building in Harris Street, erected about 1864, which had replaced the Dr Dunmore Lang Chapel built at 11 Mount Street, Pyrmont in 1842. A manse was added about 1888 and a church hall about 1902. It was built on land bequeated by John Harris, cousin of Dr John Harris. In April 1960, the Dutch congregation of the Presbyterian Church took over the building but by the 1990s it had fallen into disrepair and was closed in 2001. The Mustard Seed group of the Uniting Church restored the building and it was re-consecrated in May 2006. It is now part of the Uniting Church. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregtion(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 18/2/2021.
