The Sefton Uniting Church held its first meeting in the garage of Mr J M Williams, on 9/2/1936, and continued to meet there for most of the year, while the first church building was being erected. The building was opened on 5/12/1936 when Miss Merillee Williams turned the key (2 years old), and the Rev Coplia Thomas, President of Conference formally declared the building open. The land for the building had been donated by Mr R J Harley.1 Over the years further buildings and additions/alterations have been undertaken to meet the needs of the congregation. A Tongan congegation now also holds services on the property. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 7/2/2021.
