The Barcaldine Uniting (Methodist)  Church "was the first to open a church in Baracldine, in Ash Street - the first Primitive Methodist Church. Like other buildings in town, it arrived by rail, following the progress of the line, and being moved from town to town. It finally settled in Barcaldine in 1887.

Services, a Sunday School as well as a day school were held until 1892 when it was considered beyond repair and demolished.

A new church was built on a different site - in Maple Street - opening in 1893. Rev Little held the first service there in Easter week. The same building is now used as a church hall". [Sourced from: https://barcaldine-peopleplacesthings.org/methodist/].
