Concord Uniting Church

The Concord Uniting Church, is part of the Sydney Presbytery of the Uniting Church Synod of NSW & ACT. The church building was opened by Mrs L E Nash on Saturday 22/8/1925 for the Methodist Church of Australasia, and became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. In 1980 five churches amalgamated to form a single Concord Parish:

• Concord Wesley Methodist Church, cnr Concord Road & Sydney Street;
• Concord East Methodist Church, cnr Wallace Street &Burwood Road;
• Central Concord Methodist Church, Majors Bay Road;
• Concord West Methodist Church, cnr Concord Road & Wunda Road [present church building]; and
• Rhodes Methodist Church, Cavell Avenue.

Over the years further amalgamations took place:

• Concord Wesley transferred to the Sydney Cheil Uniting Church, Concord [for Korean speakers] (see separate entry - 2137);
• Rhodes and Concord East churches closed and properties sold; and
• Central Concord also closed but property retained for church activities.

Concord West was renovated and re-opened on 28/7/1991 as the Concord Uniting Church, with members coming from all five churches.[Sourced from: https://www.concordunitingchurch.com/about].
