New Lambton Uniting Church

The New Lambton Uniting Church (it is not clear when it assumed this name) is part of the Presbytery of Hunter and the Uniting Church Synod of NSW & ACT. The present church building was opened and dedicated as the Trinity Methodist Church, by the Rev J H Sorrell, President of Conference, on 9/7/1955. It replaced the hall next door, opened on 25/3/1923, after an earlier wooden structure, opened about 1868, and  located in Regent Street, (opposite Alma Road) was resumed for part of the present school site in 1921. The congregation of the Kotara Uniting (formerly Methodist) Church, later known as the New Lambton Uniting Church, Kotara joined this church after it closed (see separate entry - 2289).
