The Ballina Uniting Church is part of the Far North Coast Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of NSW & ACT. 'In April 1868, Mr W J Towner rowed from Ballina to Casino to pick up Rev Meiklejohn and transport him to conduct the first Methodist Service on the Richmond at Ballina Courthouse (3/5/1868), John Robertson's home at Alstonville and Joseph Pursey's home at Bungawalbyn'1. The first church building was opened on 13/2/1888 in Norton Street, and moved to Cherry Street about 1920. The present church building was erected shortly thereafter next to the original  church building. The old church building continued to be used as a hall until the 1930s when it was replaced by the current structure which was opened by the Rev A J Keeling, Conference President. After being halted, for essential structural repairs to the building, services resumed again in August 2016. However, work on external renovations could not be undertaken due to lack of funds. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 17/11/2018 & 30/5/2022.
