The Wesley Uniting Church, Perth is now part of the Uniting Church in the City initiative. A combining of this church with the Ross Memorial and Trinity Uniting Churches.
The Methodist Church in Western Australia had its origins in a beach thanksgiving service for the safe arrival of ship passengers on 3/2/1830. The service was conducted by Joseph Hardey. The first chapel, funded by subscription and known as the 'Subscription Chapel' was opened on 22/6/1834.
A larger chapel was required and when it was built, it was opened on 3/1/1841 and called the 'Centenary Chapel', in memory of the centenary of John Wesley's conversion.
The current church building was opened on 10/4/1870.
More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 13/11/2018.
