A baptismal font was presented to the church inscribed as follows: 'In Loving Memory of - Mary Ann Cowden - The first child christened in this church - who died at Bulawayo South Africa - on 1st November 1918, Aged 47 years - Presented by her Loving Husband & Children 1942? [Date not clear on photograph]

 The location of the font is not known. Mary Ann Cowden (nee Jones) had married James Cowden in this church. She died in the 1918 flu epidemic, after giving birth to a daughter, who also died. [Information provided by her great-grandson - Gary van Wyk - USA]

This former Yass Uniting Church building is now privately owned. No details are known. The adjoining Church Hall was opened by Rev R H Doust on 28/3/1953 and named the 'Yass Methodist Memorial Hall'.
