Carrieton Uniting Church - Former

The former Carrieton Uniting Church has closed, and the property has now been sold (2023). The church had been part of the Goyder Ministry Area (with Jamestown, Hallett, Whyte Yarcowie and Clements Uniting Churches) in the Wimala Presbytery of the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia. The original church building was opened on 7/5/1882 by the Rev G H Paynter from Quorn, for The Bible Christian Church, which became part of the Methodist Church at Union in 1900, and part of the Uniting Church in 1977. Over the years the building was modified/extended to meet the needs of the congregation, including new stained glass windows being installed in in the early 1950s. The church was rededicated and re-opened on 19/6/1955, with a Sunday School room added in 1960. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 31/1/2024 & 24/2/2024.
