The Canberra National Seventh-day Adventist Church, Turner is part of the South NSW Conference of Adventists. In the 1950s the Canberra Church consisted of 18 charter members meeting in various places. A Sunday School was started in May 1954, with the first church organised by Pastor W M R Scragg, Conference President, in March 1955. On 8/11/1958, with a membership of around 50, a hall was opened and dedicated as the church building (now the church hall - see separate entry Canberra Seventh-day Adventist Church - 2612). During the 1960s the church membership grew and in 1969 the Woden SDA church was formed. Plans for a new church building were accepted in 1970, with the present building being opened and dedicated on 21/11/1971. Further improvements have been made to the property since, including the surrounding environment. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 22/10/2025.
