The seeds of the Terrigal Presbyterian Church began in the 1920s, when a local group, wishing to worship as Presbyterians, had to look to Gosford for leadership. In March 1926, Terrigal was named within the Home Mission Station of Gosford.

The first services at Terrigal were conducted in private homes by Mr J W Stuart Lang, who was the Home Missionary at Gosford during 1925-26. The frequency of services during the period to 1941 is unknown, when regular fortnightly services began to be held in the Methodist Church. In 1957, weekly services began. Land for a separate church was offered by Mr and Mrs Hector McDonald in 1956. The present church building was opened on 14/12/1963, with the Terrigal Presbyterian Church to be known as 'The Scots Kirk'. Other buildings have been erected, and alterations made over the years, to meet the needs of the congregation. It became a separate charge on 1/5/1982. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 24/3/2021.
