Comments

This former church building is now privately owned.

The Mowbraytown Presbyterian church was opened in 1885, commemorating the name of the 'Father" of Presbyterianism in Queensland, Rev Thomas Mowbray, who arrived in Brisbane in 1847 and established a Presbyterian congregation in 1849. They built their first church in Grey Street, South Brisbane in 1851 and the Mawbraytown congregation stemmed directly from the South Brisbane congregation.(Refer ohta.org.au accessed 16/3/2017 and reference history below.)

No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uloaded 16/3/2017.
