The Bordertown Congregational Church closed in 1971 and became known as The Pioneer Chapel. The original congregation began at a meeting held on 31/5/1873. This is commemorated by a stone recording: '1874 - 1924 Jubilee' in the gable of the porch. The church building was opened on 25/1/1880, with the opening sermon preached by the Rev W R Fletcher. The church closed in 1971 when the congregation amalgamated with the Methodist Church. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 8/11/2016 & 31/12/2022.
