Comments

Not sure this comment is about the right chapel - correction invited:-

The Nile Chapel,  was a 'Chapel of Ease' built about 1858 to meet the needs of the district. It was erected at the instignation of the Rev Robert Russell from St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, for use by the local Presbyterians, whose services were at that time held in a shed. The church was not dedicated to any denomination and by 1877 was being used as a Wesleyan Chapel. It was for a time used as a school and by the general community. The church building is now unused and has been for some time. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 23/05/2016.
