The former Houghton Union Chapel was erected about 1845 by the Methodist, Congregational and Anglican Churches. It was used as a place of worship for each of the congregations until the late1860s/early1870s, when each congregation erected its own church building. The Union Chapel was also used as a school, which continued after the congregations had left, until a new school was erected by the Government about 18771. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 27/1/2021.
