Lancaster Methodist Church - Former

The former Lancaster Methodist Church closed in 1978, and the property is now privately owned. Methodist services began in the district in the 1870s, strongly supported by Mr Lancaster, a local land owner. After initially being conducted in private homes, services moved to a timber church building erected/opened about 1876. In 1902 a new brick church building was erected on the present site, about half a kilometre from the original church building. A vestry was added to the brick building in 1935, and a school room in 1964. However, numbers declined in the 1970s and the church was closed.
