A plaque on a rock records: In Memory of the - Pioneers of Methodism - In The Taralga District - This chapel erected in 1868 - was handed over to The Taralga Historical Society - to be preserved as a memorial.

Comments

The former Taralga Methodist Church building is now privately owned. It was erected on land donated by Mr Edward Denning, and opened on 20/9/1868. It finally ceased being a church building about 1972. Over the years the church experienced highs and lows, closing for periods and with parcels of land sold in 1937 and 1950 to meet expenses. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 26/7/2021.
