The former Waverley (Bondi Junction) Methodist Church, Bondi Junction was opened on 6/1/1889. The building was demolished in the 1970s to make way for a shopping centre expansion. It was replaced by The Church in the Market Place. (see separate entry)

The first Methodist chapel in the district was erected in Newland Street in 1844. After about fifteen years this building was sold, and on 11/9/1859 a new church building was opened at the corner of Oxford Street and Grosvenor Street. This was replaced by a new building referred to as the 'Cathedral of Methodism". The church held its 50th anniversary in May 1929. (see note below).

More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 24/7/2020.
