The former Wynarka Methodist Church building was replaced by a new building on 14/2/1971. The first church service in the district was conducted by the Rev John Blacket on 8/10/1911, near the Wynarka bore (formerly Hooper bore). The first church building was opened on 12/10/1913, and was located at the cnr Wright St. & Railway Tce. As it was the only public building in the area it was also used as a school and for other public events. The 1913 church building was relocated to the Karoonda Pioneer Park in 1990, and after repair is now open to the public as an exhibit. The 1971 church building was opened for the Methodist Church, which became part of the Uniting Church in 1977 (see separate entry - 5306) More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 29/10/2026.
