The former Coobowie Methodist Church closed some years ago, and the property has been sold. The church building was opened and held its first service, as a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, on 25/12/1876. The service was conducted by the Rev T M Rowe. A church hall was opened on 31/7/1936 by the Rev G C Hutchinson. The church became part of the Methodist Church, upon Union in 1900.
