Two information plaques record:
- St John's Lutheran Church - 1888 - German settlers came from South Australia in the 1860s and some settled nearby. In 1888, the village had grown and local settlers banded together to build their own church in 6 months of wattle and daub, costing 240 [pounds]. Much more than a place of worship, St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church became a meeting place for all age groups. Attached rooms had a German Language School and first Post Office. The church has been in continuous use since construction.
- Pastor's Home & German School - 1889 - The Lutheran manse was built as a home for the pastor in 1889 and is an example of local 'wattle and daub'. It had vertical cypress pine pole walls, plastered over to look like masonary. Until the building of the manse the pastor's temporary residence was two rooms at the back of the church. A German language school operated from 1888 to 1891. There was no Lutheran Minister living here since pastor Loffler in 1957. Ministers now are from Henty. [Private Residence-No Public Access].
