The Harvey Church of Christ is a member of the Churches of Christ in Western Australia. The present church building was opened on 7/9/1957, and replaced an earlier wooden structure erected in 1916 by local coachbuilder and carpenter, Joseph Johnston (he also built the 1923 Harvey Methodist/Uniting Church building - see separate entry - 6220). The establishment of the church reflects the dedication and vision of one couple, the Charmans, who initially held meetings in their tent, in the Harvey township. Later holding the meetings in the dining-room of their home. Services were also held at the Uduc School and the Harvey Hall before the original weatherboard chapel was erected in 1916. This 1916 building was then used as a Sunday School Hall prior to being dismantled in 1967 [Sourced from: https://www.harveyhistoryonline.com/harvey-church-of-christ-1978/]. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 4/6/2015.
